How exactly is it working? Is Sirius XM calling him with contract offers? The only thing that's "working," as far as I can see, is the computers of the people who are signing the petition. |
I am not at liberty to divulge that information, at this time. Lets just say there is someone missing on one of the Country channels..... |
So they let someone go to bring him back _________________ http://play.it/stations/K106%20WAKH%20HD2 |

No they did not let someone go to bring him back. I wish I could say more, but, I can't, I promised that I wouldn't. Just keep positive thoughts, and call Customer Care, and if you haven't already done so, sign the online petition. The names have been submitted to SiriusXM Management. We can make this happen if we keep at this. _________________ Currently looking for a new football team to support. The Redskins are all but dead to me. After 20 years, I just can't take it anymore. i suggested this earlier in the thread:
Another idea would be to FAX the SIRIUS-XM office mutliple times. I am sure they will not like wasting paper because they are cutting costs.

Yeah, Moonlightin' Mike Terry's now sleepwalking his way through a voicetracked shift for only one Sirius XM channel when he has a spare hour or so from his real job on terrestrial -- Prime Country. He used to coast through a shift on The Roadhouse, too, a shift Sirius XM feels is so vital that they've assigned one-third of it to Wade Jessen and the remainder to one Mr. Otto Pilot. Somehow, I can't see Mel OK'ing a live voice -- let alone bringing back one who was a hiring of the ownership his company bought out -- for that daypart on that channel. Hope I'm wrong, though. |

XM knew their stuff. Dan Dixon and Stained Glass were a terrific combo.

Ok so exactly where is Country Dan Dixon? It is like a damn real life episode of Where's Waldo?
Siriusly. (to HQ in Pee Wee Herman voice)
With all of the junk that gets played over and over and repeats of shows 3-4 times per week and there is no slot for THE man. Perhaps upper management should look into the pioneers of country radio and get a history lesson on who has shaped and had major influence over the years. These are the people you need to have in your employ.
Having to listen to much of the same drivel and same songlist over and over is getting pretty damn dull.
So XM/Sirius a few questions for you.
1) Why should I renew my 3 subscriptions? Two plausible reasons would be sufficient.
2) When will you start listening to your customers?
3) Who in management has the intestinal fortitude to contact me for direct feedback?
4) Oh and where in the hell is Country Dan Dixon? |

| Don't forget, programming decisions are in the hands of New York FM lifers. They all consider country music a bad redneck joke; after all NY City doesn't have a country station so the music can't be any good, right? How else can you explain the embarrassment that is Outlaw Country, with washed-up third-rate pro wrestlers (Hillbilly Jim) and "personalities" who used to be outrageous two decades ago (Mojo Nixon) are passed off as experts on Americana music? |

In case you missed this tidbit from another thread in the Country Discussion on which the original post has since been deleted:
Oh, my source also tells me that Country Dan is coming back in a limited role. Not sure what that means -- maybe a weekend request show, but only songs from the New York-generated playlist, perhaps? The source thinks Dan might be "miserable" in whatever role he's being assigned, given the playlist constraints. Oh, and other DJ shifts are being cut back to make Dan's salary fit into the inflexible budget, so even more of this channel will be on autopilot in months to come.
Let's hope that Sirius XM management is monitoring more than just the Sirius customer service/complaint lines ... |

Hope your source is reliable. Dan's Stained Glass was a terrific series for almost four years on XM. He was involved with Marlin's enLighten project.

Dan is still in the DC area, the last I knew, and I just spoke with him about a week and a half ago. No news to report on that front though.
And the guy whose source said he is coming back in a limited role, I don't know if that is true, I'm sure I would have heard something from Dan if that were true. I hope it is true, Lord knows we all do, but, I've heard nothing yet. _________________ Currently looking for a new football team to support. The Redskins are all but dead to me. | I hope the information I found on the other thread is accurate, but I, as a proud member of the former XM Nation, will have to hear Country Dan on the air first before I give credit to the poster for the scoop .... |
