XM sure gets a lot of free previews. Sirius doesn't seem so generous. Two Best of XM sports just started: NHL and NBA. You'd think that would be a good opportunity for a free BOXM preview. Nope. _________________ -LFV

Sirius isn't generous with anything, not even the price of their radio's if your already Sirius sub, but XM does, go figure _________________ * XMP3 * XM EVERYTHING |

I'm not sure if having only 1 urban channel on the free preview reflects that genre's ratings, or if that's not the market they are trying to hit with this free trial. _________________ The one and only, XMFan.com!

Sirius' conditional access architecture makes doing that sort of thing very difficult.... in order to only activate certain channels, they'd have to update every radio's channel lineup which would disrupt current listeners' experience. _________________ Numberless worlds are around us, all framed by the same Divine Artist, which roll through the vast expanse, and all are connected through the same unerring law of nature.... |

With the last preview, I don't remember them having to update all the radios. I just remember my deactivated radio updated with the preview. _________________ Sirius SL2- Lifetime

Yet another half-hearted promotional attempt. No kidding, who knows about this besides the folks on this board?
For crissakes, let's get some real promos going! About three times a year, Sirius should open the ENTIRE thing up for EVERY radio. A week before, hit TV markets with advertising urging people who have deactivated radios in their cars to sample the service.
Then, give them the $77 deal for a year, six months, whatever, with the condition that they leave a credit card on file for regular service after the $77 deal has expired. No contracts or anything like that, but I'm betting that a good percentage of those who signed up at the reduced rate would not cancel. _________________ ---------------------------------------------------------

Do you guys think this is one of those previews that end with kill signals being spread out to all the deactivated radios that still get the channels? _________________ "Tragedy is when I cut my finger. Comedy is when you walk into an open sewer and die." --Mel Brooks

I'd be stunned if it wasn't. After all, that's the secondary reason for having the things. But then, the radios will go dead eventually anyway. _________________ ---------------------------------------------------------
