Ive been watching some the old games on ESPN. Goalies were good, but the GAA was maybe 3.50 - 4.00 goals per game.
Goalie padding is far too big, or the nets are too small for todays goalies. Id like to see it even out. |

And I'd like to see the MTS Centre blown up into smithereens. _________________

How about using sumo wrestlers as goalies and nobody would ever score? _________________ |

| Good idea. Maybe we should ask Garth Snow what he thinks. |

The game is fine right now. All it needs is a contraction of a half-dozen or so teams to further concentrate the great young talent that the league has been bringing in over the past half dozen years.
We're out of the "dead puck era" and goals per game are around 6 to 7. A 4-2 or 4-3 game has plenty of action in it, you don't need 11 or 12 goals to have an exciting game. Heck, even a 2-1 game is exciting if there are lots of chances and lots of hitting. What was killing hockey in the early years of the last decade was the overemphasis on defense and the action-preventing "trap."
Rule changes -- none of which tampered with the basics of the game -- have opened up and improved hockey. We don't need to be thinking about enlarging nets or shrinking pads anymore. |

| Hockey is exciting enough right now. NHL is probably the most exciting sport to watch. As long as you know what is going on in the game, and the rules, it's an exciting sport to watch. |

| Why do they need more goals scored? Goals allowed has increased since the lock out. Not allowing the goaltender to go outside of his designated zone behind the net and getting rid of the two line pass has sped the game up significantly |
