Actually, I kind of was. Someone commented on the spending of alternative energy investment, and in addition to that, we can add Solyndra, and we would still be less than our foreign aid. |

The Solyndra scandal reeks of criminal activity.
Foreign aid is voted for as part of a legal congressional budget.
See, one action may have been illegal, the other is not.
In case that was too hard for you to comprehend. Somebody was a bad boy and did something that they knew they were not allowed to do for Solyndra.

"Investments" have a return, these were donations of tax money to campaign contributors. There is no such thing as clean energy at this point, ethanol takes more energy than it returns and is not cost effective. Making solar panels generates a lot of waste and, at current efficiency levels, can't compete with oil or gas. Wind turbines need gas or oil backup and end up costing more than they produce. Environmentalists won't let us build dams, though hydro power is cost effective, just ask Canada. |
