Will the android app work in Europe?

I'm visiting Europe this summer and will have a wifi enabled android with me. The app is already installed, so no issues with trying to download it from abroad.

I'd like to listen to some mlb games (even if it's 2am local time when they are on).

I'm guessing the app will work fine, but for some reason, I'm worried it will detect I'm not in the US and thus will not let me listen for some obscure licensing reason.

Any input is appreciated.

Yes, you can listen to the app in Europe, but you cannot listen to geolocation-protected content, like NFL and MLB play-by-play. You will only have access to those channels if you are located in the US.

There's ways around everything, though. You can download a GPS spoof tool, like the one below:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lexa.fakegps

This will trick your phone (and it's apps) into thinking you are actually where you are not. You don't even have to be rooted, either.

OK, I'm loving the new Android app, got a change to try it out this morning on my 10 mile bike ride, no more drop-outs & buffering up Very Happy

However, I did noticed a few hiccups about 6 of them every 10 to 20 min. or maybe it's my T-mobile Galaxy S 4G network phone Sad

so I'm not giving up my XMP3i just yet, but it's a start, I was somewhat impressed with the new app, however it still needs some work, and I think Ryan covered most of that early on in this thread..

I went from NJ to Pittsburgh and back (678 miles) and hand 5 dropouts on my Xoom un-rooted 4g tablet! Six tunnels, 5 dropouts! Going into the tunnels and reconnected itself once I came out of the tunnels(2 miles down the road) and one where as soon I as I was out of the tunnel the music played as soon as I came out the other end! Of all the spots where I would lose a signal on my DroidX, I kept a signal with the new App! So far I'm liking this!

Android app updated today. Since SiriusXM doesn't believe in change logs, I have no idea what was fixed/added.

I got a question does it go back and forth with the audio quality ? how does it work?

and does it reconnect automatically how does this work?

i think im going to go the internet route shortly since nba is over and i can get mlb online and i really only listen to music anyway and it sounds like all the hicupps are fixed for the most part.

It will adjust audio quality. Not very well, though. It's automatic.

Sometimes it will reconnect automatically, sometimes not.

Most definitely not a seemless experience versus satellite.

Those are the same notes that have been listed since the 1.2 -to- 2.0 update and do not refer to their revisional updates.

I'm glad they're actually updating the app this time around, but it would be nice of them to let us know what was fixed or added.

At least they could be vague and say "Bug Fixes" or something in the What's New section.

New subscriber for about a month and I'm really enjoying this android app. Anyone else wish there was a sleep timer in the settings? Would be nice if we could reorder the favorites list, too.

well updating my first trip with the app this past week and as i figured it did well in the city and major highways but in the rural part of eastern arizona it suffered a meltdown did not re connect when signal loss was near 1 bar or zero bars.

other issue i had was it would connect and buffer and then play over and over until i stopped it manually . very annoying. this app should have a user buffer option for places like this .

one other issue was the 5 hour rewind feature when losing the signal you lose your spot on the rewind feature and have to start the show all over . it kept losing the spot kind of makes it pointless if it cant save the location.

worked fine in to town and on the interstates coming back on the I-40 in az and ca, as well as I-15 in ca.

Content update this morning. SiriusXM "On-Demand" channel loop in the "More" category, dedicated team channels for NFL play-by-play, Sports 900 and 901 channels are now on 960 and 961, and a few logo changes.
