since it looks like some of us are making a wish list for talkers to have on our XM - how about Dahl????

chicago-folks will certainly know him; any baseball fans that recall the disco-demolition that canceled the 2nd game of the double header between the soxs and the Tigers..........

Steve Dahl would be a perfect addition to the so called extreme talk channel..........

Gary Meirer (sic) is done for, thank goodness.........he screwed Dahl and then went on to screw his new partner Roe..........

Chicago land also gave us "jonathan brandmier" he was doing some voice over work for ABC-TV, but I think he is back on the air.

how about giving BUZZ KILLMAN his own show.

after leaving Chicago, I knew I would miss GOOD talk radio - that is why I was soo happy to get XM, but most of the talk falls short of what I got to hear in Chicago.

I am pretty sure Steve's show is still on WCKG, an infinity station..........so it is not certain infininty would let Steve stream on XM!

Don't know how long ago you left Chicago, but the Steve Dahl show is NOTHING like it used to be back in the day.

Johnny B, on the other hand, is still funny as hell and would be fantastic on XM. He is back on the air (in LA) and doing morning drive for 93.1 Occassionally, they put up some of his bits at:

http://www.arrowfm.com/djs/brand_audio.shtml

IF YOU"RE READING THIS, COME TO XM JOHNNY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They used to have Steve Dahl on a Detroit FM talk station. He was so boring. After a month they dumped him.

I do not know how it is now in Chicago. I used to live there but i don't anymore. Chicago had some great Talk show hosts alot mentioned in previous posts like Brandmeir, Steve Dahl, etc. I used to listen alot to WGN Radio 720 when I lived there because I loved Talk Radio. They carried Cubs games but afterwards they had some great shows like extension 720 With Milt Rosenberg. Going WAY back into the 80's there was this show on WLS Larry Lujack was the guys name. I used to listen to him all the time.

By the way, you can still catch Milt even if you're not in Chicago. I believe WGN radio streams everything over the internet. Milt's sub-site at WGN is:

http://wgnradio.com/shows/ex720/index.html

The older (and wiser) I got, the more I liked listening Milt. He's a Chicago institution.

Long time Chicagoan here. Steve has been EXTREMELY boring for the last ten years. The only attractive package for XM would be to have reunion with Garry Meier. I say if there is enough cash, it will happen. It happened to KISS and Motley Crue.

I really hope XM kicks Howard's as. I HATE HIM. His whole George Bush conspiracy thing was dilusional. The decency bill is backed by just as many Democrats, including Hillary who had a press conference praising it and Michael Powell was appointed by BILL CLINTON. The political correct left wants censorship just as much as the Christian Right.

The funniest thing on Chicago talk is Kevin Matthews...

I'd listen to Dahl, just because I have listened off and on throughout his career (I live in Springfield, Il. We used to listen to the AM broadcast when he was on WLS. I used to live near Chicago as a teen and listened then, too).

He has tamed down and carees his ratings from the long time listener that has grown older listening to him. He was a lot funnier when he was drunk or hung over and fighting with his wife! HAHAHAHA!

Dahl and Meier are untalented douchebags and it's a matter of opinion who screwed who over. Meier was severely pussywhipped and Dahl ridiculed him for it while Meier was on his honeymoon.
Now Brandmeier and Kilman were kickass together and I would love to hear them on XM.

I lived in Chicago most of my youth. Listned everyday to Dahl, Johnny B. I was a Kevhead. Went to Johnny and the Leisure Suits concerts (one of the BEST shows I've EVER seen.) The LOOP was fantastic BUT.. I don't know what happened but these guys but they are a shell of what they once were.

It's too bad, I'd LOVE for them to be good again. I think I grew up but thier schtick hasn't. It's not new nor clever. They all seem to be in emotional termoil.

I will say there is ONE standout in Chicago radio today and that is Mancow. Although I think he hasn't been as good in the past year or two, I heard a fire in his belly last time I heard him. He would make an excellent addition to XM. I think he will get off the mat and make some waves this year.

Steve Dahl is just aweful, been coasting for years. Garry Meier is very funny but his wife, yoko calls all the shots. Kevin Matthews is past it too. Used to be funny.
WGN is a great chicago station, Milt, Kathy & Judy, Spike, John Williams. all very good, humorous, interesting. XM could do worse than just simulcasting WGN 24/7.
I live up in Milwaukee & listen to WGN quite often.

Just my $.02 on the chicago talkers.

Dahl is getting pretty old and stale. Kevin has left WCKG and now has a podcast. While he may be getting old he is still funny. Gary Meirer could be good if teamed up with the right person and if his wife got out of his affairs. Mancow is good and would really like to hear his show on XM.

The truth be told I am really upset that XM 152 is basically Real Rock 104.1 (or whatever) from FLA. Why not grab a bunch of people form around the country and have 24 hour coverage? There a many quality shows out there as well as people looking for gigs.

I used to like XM 152 one week later I stopped listening.
