They're added to the list. Lou Simon is replacing Jon Zellner on the '60s channel and we're hopeful the playlist will expand. Maybe there's hope for the '70s, '80s, and '90s channels too. Maybe.

90's on 9's definitely sounding better. Same songs that have been on the playlist forever, but at least they're not getting overplayed in the same dayparts anymore.

I just added a few more songs, including that beautiful sentimental herat-warming ballad by Cypress Hill, Insane In The Brain. My original XM '90s list had 1449 songs. Ya wanta know how many songs I have (so far) for the post-merger'90s channel? Four hundred fifty-four. Yikes! Either the channel has the smallest playlist of any Sirius XM channel...or it's much bigger than 454 and I need to work on the list some more. Golly gee, I don't know which is the case!

Here are some songs I've heard in the last couple days. I'd like to think SXM is expanding the playlist, so if that's what's happening, please keep it up!
Kieth Sweat - Twisted
Feel So Good - Mase
Dangerous - Busta Rhymes
Siouxsie & The Banshees - Kiss Them For Me
Another Bad Creation - Iesha

In the 2003 School Of Rock movie, Jack Black drew on a chalkboard a huge diagram that showed the evolution of rock'n'roll. Only one group's name was misspelled: Siouxzie & the Banshees. I'm very fussy about spelling and grammar. Thanks for bringing back that horrifying memory! Anyway, I added Siouxsie and those others to the list. That makes 459 songs. That's a little better than 454.

AZjoe, I won't lie to you: that song was already on the list. And Eric? For me, at least, I'm Not In Love is not a "big surprise"---it was a top-ten hit, after all. But I added it to the list, along with eight others, all from today. All but one of those nine songs were top-ten. The one that wasn't was the Rembrandt's Just The Way It Is Baby, which got to #14. Ho-hum.

Celine Dion had 15 top-40 hits in the 1990s. Four of those went to number one. But you know the criterion for airplay on the '80s and '90s channels: any artist whose videos were not played on MTV will not be heard on the '80s-90s channels. I'm glad I could clarify this for you.

Hello! 60's? 70's? and the incredibly awful '80's? |
