Quote:
It's easier to govern in Alaska when oil prices are high, but they are down from last year's historic highs and the budget is much tighter. And this year, Palin's signature project, getting a natural gas pipeline, moves into a critical phase: whether North Slope leaseholders will commit to shipping gas in the pipeline, which is still at least a decade away.

Palin has said stepping down as governor was about doing the right thing for Alaska — not wanting to be a lame duck governor if she knew she wasn't running for re-election in 2010. She also has hinted that her decision was a strategic move aimed at gearing up for a run for president.

But many political observers in Alaska say it was obvious her heart wasn't in the job.

Palin no longer delivered bagels to lawmakers. She limited her access to the media, and when she did hold news conferences, and she relied on notes and her commissioners for backup. One legislator quipped after her state of the state address in January that the only eye contact she made in the legislative chamber was with the television camera.

He doesn't know, but then the whole damn thread has pretty much dropped to the level of no one knowing what they are talking about. Just whacking their keyboards out of terminal boredom.

Sorry, boys, but this is a political discussion forum,

So lets discuss!

How do you feel about "The One's" first six months?

Have his actions done anything to help the economy recover?

How do you feel about the debt he running up on your grandchildrens credit card?

Are you happy with his steps to end war and bring the troops home?

Are you happy that Osama is still breathing?

Do you approve of his inability to have a press conference without a teleprompter or planted questions?

GO!

Sorry, boys, but this is a political discussion forum, and when one of the leading GOP candidates for president in 2012 announces in an incoherent speech that she is quitting in her first term as governor, that is political news.

I noticed that you boys had no problem with threads on Cynthia McKinney or Michelle Obama, neither of whom hold public office. But, then again, they are black women so it is always open season on them with you dead-enders.

Swede
You don't understand. It's OK to say any thing you want about Palin... as long as it is good. If you say anything critical of her you must have an obsession.

You have not been on this forum in months. Just let someone bring up Palin or the Dixie Clucks and you come out of the woodwork. You ARE obsessed with her just as you are the Dixie Clucks!

GO!

The Bush recession and the Bush wars are terrible problems, no doubt about that. Obama is doing a good job addressing them.

If everything is still in the Bush shitter by 2012, then Obama deserves a stiff challenge from the GOP. But I got news for you, Sarah Palin will be no challenge not matter how bad the economy or the wars. I think Romney (who finished his gubernatorial term) could be a very formidable candidate in 2012, but I'm not certain that the lunatic fringe that controls the GOP will bypass both Palin and and Huckabee (who also finished his gubernatorial term).

Both Clinton and Bush got elected president while serving as governors. If Palin can't stand the heat in Wasilla, how will she survive Washington?

Hope all is well, GB. Cool

Hey, what the fuck is that about..? Have you ever been to Kentucky sir?
And if you knew a thing or three about American or should I say Kentucky politics , you would know that Kentucky has only voted in majority for a dem presidential candidate 3 times since 1972,,,,

Just try not to take it personally. That what I do when the "Forum Idiot" has diarrhea of the mouth regarding Mississippi. Wink

Did you come up with "libtard" yourself, there Mr. Originality? Laughing

It was coined by Hoaxland, like everything else the little parrot cons write here.

So Hoaxland is responsible for the entire English language. He'll be glad to know.

Hey it is just refreshing to see that suade did not blame it on Bush!

Probably didn't think about it. Wink

Any specifics on ANYTHING he has done that you consider "a good job"?

Can't you discuss Obama without bringing up Bush, Palin etc.?

Don't you want to "discuss" the other questions?

Osama?
Unemployement?
Job loss?
Planted questions?

PS I'm doing great - thanks for asking! And you?

suede would rather deflect than admit that the teleprompter in chief is a huge letdown.

Osama -- he hasn't been found yet. Bush had over 7 years and couldn't do it even when the scent was fresh (remember, Bush said he didn't even care about bin Laden). You expect Obama to find him in 6 months long after the trail went cold. Get real.

Unemployment -- job loss is slower under Obama than it was during the last 3 months of the Bush term. The Bush recession will take a long time to turn around.

Job loss -- see above.

Planted questions -- don't know anything about it, but it sounds like some type of right-wing charge, among many.

Glad to hear you are doing well in the middle of the heat down there. Sun finally came out here, but not too warm yet.
