With all the positive changes going on on the 50's & 60's channels do you suppose someone is going to be smart enough to bring Matt the Cat back? We can only hope, I know we would be resubscribing if that should happen.

That would be the only intelligent thing the new company will have done in ages, if it happens!

Matt the Cat was(is)an incedrible personality. He lived and breathed the 50 s and considering he's only in his early 30s that is even more remarkable. Matt did a wonderful job each night with theme shows and great phone interaction. He is sorely missed on Channel 5. Is there a place for him? I sure hope so.

He was there from the very beginning of XM, before they started taking requests. During his stay, the music got better and better with an ever-increasing playlist which included all genres; and his shows, both "Harlem" and "The Night Prowl" were always fun and educational. If he is re-hired and inclusion, as opposed to exclusion, becomes the rule of the decades channels (specifically Channel 5 in this case) greatness will be restored to the satellite airwaves.

I would like to see Matt the Cat brought back with the keys to that music hidden in the vaults. That young man could seamlessly blend the most eclectic variety of music together in the most palatable manner. His shows are sorely missed by a great many of us.

Indeed. Some would say impossible Very Happy

Do wish we'd see his return, though.

I notice some subtle changes on the 50's on5, but not on the 60's on 6. Just some new imaging.

'50s On 5 is once again playing some early '50s MOR hits along with a few country hits, and the channel plays a lot of obscure songs. '60s On 6 is occasionally playing a low-charting song, although, since the merger, "low-charting" means "below the top ten" instead of "below the top 40." My list at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcdpYMfY5iE now has 926 songs, only 2353 fewer songs than my list for the '60s channel in 2007.

Since we don't listen to SXM anymore we will take your word for it. We just want Matt back so we can start listening again.

Unless they really tied his hands, that playlist would increase very rapidly if they rehired Matt and a lot of people would start listening again.

If they brought Matt back maybe we could hear tunes from people like Wynonie Harris, The Spaniels Percy Mayfield, Piano Red, maybe even some Smiley Lewis, Professor Longhair or Guitar Slim. Please, please bring Matt back.

Yes, and also more Ruth Brown, Johnny "Guitar" Watson, Roy Brown, The Cardinals, The Ravens and Lavern Baker songs you don't hear anymore.

Way to go, Yum Yum! It's good to see that we're still all together out here fighting for our man and our music.
