| Nigel Dawes and Ryan Reaves(sp?) are both from Winterpeg. Favorite sons are Toews, Sharp, and Keith...

I was reading on a Predators fan forum that they don't want Nashville to leave the Western Conference. They think Columbus should be made to go.

| Welcome back, Winnipeg. Is that huge portrait of the Queen in the new arena, too?

Negative. It was sold to a collector in Ontario, and will not be returning to the new arena.
No place to put it in the new one anyways, we will need every square inch to cram people into the barn.

The Jets have 13,000 season ticketholders. For three days, only the 2,000 some season ticket holders to the Manitoba Moose could buy tickets. Those fans bought 7,100 season tickets. When the remaining tickets went on sale today, they sold out in two minutes.

I know just about everyone wants them to be called the Jets again. Will the NHL let this happen, or do the rights to the name still belong to whoever winds up owning the Coyotes?
I remember when the Springfield Indians (AHL) moved to Worcester, a new team was brought in immediately but it couldn't be called the Indians because that name went to Worcester with the old ownership -- even though they didn't use that name for the Worcester club. Ditto for Hartford's team now being called the Connecticut Whale; Howard Baldwin (of the old NHL Whalers ownership group) bought the Wolf Pack from MSG but couldn't use "Whalers" -- Peter Karmanos in Carolina still owns the name.

I was wondering this as well. I know when baseball came back to Washington, a lot of people wanted them to be called the Senators again, but I believe that wasn't an option because the Rangers owned the name.

The league owns the rights to the Jets name, and they have said that if True North wants to use the name it could. They also own the Moose name (old ahl team) so they might keep that too.
I am now something I never thought I would ever get to be after the Jets left, an NHL season ticket holder!
