| At least as of four months ago there was a significant chronological stream of the orginal hours of MTV (as well as the NASA feed that immediately preceded the "launch") on YouTube. I watched the first several hours before I got tired and never went back to it. It is very interesting though. |

I would love to find that. I only have the first 4 hours. |
Oops, well an update after watching more, I have only the first 4 hours from the orignal day. The other 20 hours are from a VH1 Classic recreation of the original day that plays the original videos but not all of the original segments, etc. |

Yeah, I heard of a collector having that VH1 Classic creation also, which I was supposed to get myself. At least they played the original videos but too bad it doesn't have the original segments, etc. Better than nothing, I suppose. |

Another act in the comedy of errors: this afternoon Alan Hunter played Fleetwood Mac's "Everywhere" and said it came from their "Mirage" album, when it was in fact from "Tango In the Night", which was released five years later.
Speaking of Fleetwood Mac, though, about 15 minutes later I got one of the few recent 80s on 8 "oh, wow" moments when they played Lindsey Buckingham's "Holiday Road", which is well known as the theme from "National Lampoon's Vacation" but wasn't a big hit when released as a single, so I wouldn't have expected them to play it. |

| I'm surprised he got Fleetwood Mac right. That, in itself is a victory. |

| I thought it was just me that was getting fed up with these idiots. The 80's channel run by Muzak on Dish Network has a bigger playlist. I compare them a lot since Dish also carries the Sirius channels. If it wasn't for talk and sports I would cancel all my radios. |

OK, here's another laugh. During the Big 40 countdown, recapping this week's top 40 hits from 1988, Nina referred to UB40 as "pretty much a one hit wonder", that hit being "Red Red Wine".
Um, how about the #1 hit "Can't Help Falling in Love"? "Here I Am"? "The Way You Do the Things You Do" (both top 10 hits). OK, those were in the 1990s (and remakes of earlier hits), but still... |

Went to Muzak's website and here is what they played recently on their 80's channel:
Now on 80's Hits
What I Am, by Edie Brickell And New Bohemians
The last ten songs on 80's Hits
Girls, by Dwight Twilley
Get the Balance Right, by Depeche Mode
Na Na Hey Hey (Kiss Him Goodbye), by Bananarama
Hold On Tight, by Electric Light Orchestra
Conga, by Gloria Estefan
The Ghost in You, by Psychedelic Furs
Young Turks, by Rod Stewart
The Lady Don't Mind, by Talking Heads
R.O.C.K. In The U.S.A., by John Mellencamp
If You Leave, by Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark
You certainly won't hear much of these songs on SiriusXM 80's channel. |

Listen carefully after song #19 Diesel- Sausalito Summer Night and right before # 18 Kenny Loggins- Footloose. As Alan Hunter is doing the intro, he mentions the newest version of the movie with Julianne Hough and pronounces her last name "How" instead of "Huff". How can any real man on this planet not know this?
