Rejoice!
It will either be on Channel 15 (currently BBC Radio One) or 54.
We'll lose BBC Radio One's Friday night dance programming, however. _________________

I think this kinda confirms it will be on the sats too. Dropping BBC Radio 1 ( which is on the Sats too).... for another channel...
54 is a better a channel for it but perhaps next channel updates? |

| Channel 54 makes perfect sense for a channel called 'Studio 54' and it still keeps it in the dance programming category proximity. |

| Looks like SiriusXM 15 will be the new home for disco on the satellites- now playing on BBC1: "SiriusXM is making room for a brand new channel. Coming soon on this channel, a new addition of commercial free channels." |

Well, we all know it can be possible that 15 can move to 54 no problem on the XM side. Probably stuck on 15 on the Sirius side though. _________________ I need more room for my signature. 255 characters is not enough. Complaint filed. |

My only hope for this new channel is that it also plays 80's and 90's era dance music and not strickly 70's disco. _________________ "A State of Sundays" on Electric Area SXM-52

Based on the name, I would think that it would be strictly 70's era disco but we won't know until the channel starts up. I'm hoping there are no DJ's on the channel. _________________ 5 XM radios - Two Roady 2's, Nexus50, Nexus 25, and a TMX1 plus Lifetime XMRO!

I'm very disappointed this morning. I don't really know why because it's not really my type of music. But I found myself tuning into BBC radio 1 a lot. I think it was hearing the accents. Chick with British / Scottish accents are hot. And I like the live lounges.
I read elsewhere that part of the reason is that the BBC Radio iplayer will be released in North America soon. _________________ Skyfi2 for the car

BBC Radio 1 is already axed.
Check out the Dance Discussion for all the chatter about the forthcoming Classic Dance channel. _________________ I need more room for my signature. 255 characters is not enough. Complaint filed. |
