Besides which, YOU have said you do not believe in the use of the US military unless the US itself isattacked. So based on that, IF Iran did have a nuke, what would YOU say the US should do about it?

Seriously, were it proved that Iran had a nuke (they tested one for example) what do you think the US should do?

He would say "why is it our problem?", like he always does.

I'm just trying to write like they think - how else would you explain tens of thousands of American lives risked to keep the lights on?

The government hacks wanted to shut every Mark One down in like '77 time period. It's 2012 and EVERY one of them is still operating.

The bigger question is why do you Rightwing guys see Americas nuclear energy generation system as accepable risk and at the same time you swear if Iran were to possess a bomb capable of doing what say Fermi II could do to Detroit that is unacceptable risk?

They found a hole in Fermi II a couple years back. In the containment vessel. They happened to be shut down for maintenance when the corrosion was discovered. LUCKY for us huh?

you're getting to be like dumbfuck, very pedantic, sophomoric and shallow.

if a community chooses to build a reactor, its a voluntary choice, a knowing acceptance of risks. this is what adults do every day, only on a different scale.

this is what dumbfuck hates, by the way, the idea that someone could choose risk.

iran, on the other hand, is nearly out of control, with the capability of starting a disastrous war because of its nukes, whether or not it uses them, and if it does, the situation becomes magnitudes worse.

nuclear reactor generated electricity in detroit vs nuclear war in the mideast. you really can't see any material difference?

Now it's nuke"s", and not a "nuke". Not too long ago they were barely able to produce enough nuclear energy to run their country.

You cons really need to take off the tin foil hats. Iran is not a threat.

No one asked me about building a bomb that is good to go to wipe out a 110 mile circle of humanity. Honest - I never got a vote. Some lobbyists bought my elected officials and they decided that I decided.

I elected those dumb fuckers with the understanding that they would look out for my vital government interests, and if say they found out they had made a horrible mistake and built a time bomb instead of a ' power choice' and then decided to not rescind their mistake because it would hurt industry: should I just bend over and let them fuck me when they start world war III as well?

Iran is no more out of control than we are. We are the ones all over the world with drones and crap killing people while we hold thousands of nuclear missles at their throats.

We are threatening to invade them for possessing ONE of the bastard motherfucking missles you wimps are worried about.

There was a fucking hole corroding the containment vessel at Fermi II that was more than halfway through by the time they accidentally discovered it where they thought it impossible to occur.

How do think the patch is doing?

Am I asking them to shut everything down because it looks bad?
No!
And I'm not willing to go kill a bunch of heathens for acting like US either.

we live in a republic with a functioning judiciary. avail yourself of your constitutional rights to seek redress if you're all that worried about getting nuked by a commercial reactor.

Uh, no. You just made the same point I made days ago about raw milk.

We as a society chose democratically to write laws and fund an FDA that keeps our food supply safe.

But you are free to move closer to a nuclear reactor, buy a cow, and drink all the glowing raw milk you desire.

please.

you lost whatever point you were trying to make when you rated the risk of "plunonium" contamination equal to with raw milk.

It's so funny reading your opinions of nuclear power, especially the fear mongering that comes from the left.

The safety record of nuclear power is pretty darn good and has XMID pointed out far fewer people have lost their lives because of nuclear power than any other major power generating source.

My brother was a nuclear plant operator for over 30 years, I’ve heard first hand how safe the industry is and I can tell you that I sleep very comfortably at night while living only 45 miles from San Onofre.
