Ok, big thanks to sonnik for providing his source!

With that I made this interface for my carputer. It's a 10.4" touchscreen @ 800x600 res.

I wasn't gonna share this cause I just did it to my specs, but I figured what the heck. Someone may improve upon it or need it.

I can't promise to provide support, but I will do what I can.

It has only been tested on XP Pro, I can't support any other OS's.

Please post your findings here whether it's bugs or inoperability with other OS's etc.

Anyway, here it is.

Update 1/13/04. V.1.5
1. Added Mute Capability
2. Added Preset scan so you know what is playing on your presets w/o changing the channel.

Update 1/14/04 12:21AM EST v1.5.1
1. Fixed a small problem with saving presets and then still saying the same station.
2. Other small stuff.

Update 1/14/04 2:21PM EST v1.6.0
1. Added Check For Update utility so you can always know if there is a new update
2. Registered domain TouchXM.com
3. Added a download with no VB6 Runtimes seeing as most people should have them. If you are not sure, get the whole package.

Update 1/15/04 11:30PM EST v1.6.0
1. Fixed 2 small issues for Win2k users. Just color stuff. No bugs.
2. Updated screen caps.

Full Install: http://www.touchxm.com/download/TouchXMSetup.zip

Full Install No VB6 Runtimes: http://www.touchxm.com/download/TouchXMSetup-NoRuntimes.zip

Exe only (only if you have done the Full Install previously): http://www.touchxm.com/download/TouchXM.exe

More to come! Stay tuned!

Derek

Yep looks very nice. Do you have a post somewhere about your whole in-car setup?

You can check out http://derek-ceo.7thgencivic.com for pics and here http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/member.php?s=&action=getinfo&userid=2 for my profile.

BTW, you don't need to have a Touchscreen to use this.

Also, it's not obvious, but clicking the XM logo will minimize to tray.

Hi,

We can't get the program to run at all.
A number of us tried to get it run on Windoes XP Pro sp1 machines and keep getting a type mismatch error.

Just wondering where do you tell the software what comport the PCR is on? Or do you scan for the port?

well, it should ask you for your port you u start it up the first time. But by default it uses port 4.

At what point do you get the error? Do you have to do anything or is it as soon as you launch?

It never asks for a comport.
It's as soon as we launch.
This is why I thought it was maybe the comport. But our pCR's are all on com 4 also.

Could it be something with the csv file?

ok, it should be fixed now.

You can either download the complete zip again and run the install or just download the exe. The exe won't work by itself if you don't have the zip.

OK,
That looks like it took care of it. I'm up and running.
But we did have something strange happen on one of the network machines.
an error came up about port must be open or something after we clicked ok.
But the second time we started it up. The program came up fine. No errors.
Maybe something with my WIFI caused a glitch. Don't know?
It looks very nice. The big buttons will let people that have poor vision make it easy to use.
Thanks

That's strange. I will keep on eye on that one.

Glad to hear it's all working for you.

I will be trying to upgrade as I can.

I want to add Mute and want to be able to scan each preset to find out what is playing b4 changing the channel.

Just as a suggestion... you *may* want to poll the xmpcr for the current channel lineup. I noticed the list has all of the new channels, but does not have channels such as Special X (30) which are still up until the end of the month.. Other than that... the program is looking good!

Like I said, this was built for my specifications. I don't know how to "poll" for the station list anyway. All I needed was a current lineup for my needs.
Maybe in the future I can add it.

THanks,
Derek
