Hey guys,

Anyone have experience or tips on building a boombox from scratch?
I already have the Delphi boombox and it's not loud enought for this application Smile
I would really like to take the Delphi out on my jet ski this summer.

I'm thinking of building a waterproof boombox out of a cooler and waterproof speakers. I was going to put an amp and a rechargable 12V battery in the cooler as well as a Delphi car kit. I would like to omit an actual tuner to save costs and run the Delphi outs directly into the amp.
Question is how would this sound and could I control the volume with just Delphi line out?
Also, I assume I would have to enclose the individual speakers in the cooler to get decent sound.

I searched the net and newsgroups and came up empty for any plans/samples.

Any thought would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Here's a link to my homemade boom box. It's not waterproof, but it may give you some ideas on how to build yours.
