So, what do you do when a woman has been shot and there is a state-wide manhunt for the suspect? You grab a Howard Stern mask and a cape and assault the media! So, boneyardfanxm and myself did just that.
St Louis tv stations Fox 2 and KMOV 4 were broadcasting live from the St. Charles City Police Station about the shooting during the 6PM newscast-- it was the top story!
There were cars at the stoplight next to the police station. Someone had an airhorn and someone else yelled out "it's an assault on the media!" The Fox2 camera man saw us coming with our masks and capes, so he zooms into the reporter's face to block us out of the shot. Someone from the van came around telling us to "get out of here". So, we decided to walk away-- long enough for the camera man to decide to go with the wide shot. We then ran back on camera, but they quickly cut away to a picture of the suspect.
As we were making our escape, 6 police officers came out of the station and apprehended us. We were being questioned on what happened and we explained it's just a contest and no one was harmed. Once the reporter finished her story, she charged over to where we were being held and starts screaming "how dare you. Someone has been shot!". KMOV 4 was broadcasting from the other side of the parking lot and you can see the FOX2 reporter and a police officer walking over to where we were at in the background.
Once KMOV 4 finished their broadcast, their camera man and someone else started screaming "arrest them!" and he said "how are you going to let people with masks charge up behind someone?"
Luckily, we have friends that work at that station and they let us go. The cops told the reporter no crime had been commited, and we were told not to do this again infront of their station

ya, it was fun. First AOTM at a police station, and i believe it's the first AOTM during the top story

That is so funny! I'm laughing as I'm reading this, as I don't feel bad for the media as they alwys spinn storys and the truth is lost.

When I clicked on your video link the first time, I got alot of machine language and it messed up my browser. Then I right clicked on it and downloaded the file with no problem.

I agree with you guys. The "Holier Than Thou" media are assholes. They have no problem asking people questions, then butchering the answers when they air them (if they even keep the answer in context at all).
One thing worries me though. The exact timeline between you guys hearing the lady was shot and deciding, "Hey, let's grab those Howard masks and pre-made sign and run down to the station!" |
