| I just traded LeCavelier for Dana Heatley in my fantasy league, so hopefully Lecavelier puts the brakes on!! |

I got St. Louis for Sergei Gonchar, man what a good trade that was. I've always liked the Lightning, and I was at the game, front row seats when the lightning visited the boston bruins, and the bruins won in overtime. great game, but tampa has great talent, i think they may have over spent on the "Big 3".

The Lightning are still a good club, they will be a factor in the east.
Also, no matter how good they are, they have THE WORST PLAY-BY-PLAY TEAM IN THE NHL. Unlistenable, Mishkin is bad doing the play by play, & Espo( who is a legend & his role with the club & his role as a player cannot be questioned ) is not very good as a color man.

I disagree. Dave Mishkin (crap, I forgot how to spell his name!) is probably one of the most enthusiastic play by play voices I've ever heard. |

Didn't happen last night. He is on fire, and continued w/ a hatrick and 2 assists.

If I'm in the car and Ottawa is playing on the road, I like listening to the other team's play-by-play guys on XM. I especially like Carolina's. However, I have never heard a worse play-by-play team than Tampa Bay's. It was rough last April when I was on holiday in Florida and could not put on the Team1200's coverage. I'm not a fan of Ottawa's play-by-play drones. Everything seems to be sposored in Ottawa's coverage. The Ottawa Honda powerplay, Charm Diamond Centre's water bottle sip etc. I didn't appreciate Ottawa's annoucers until I heard Tampa Bay's. |

So are fans that go pay to go into one of those "fantasy"play by play booths you see at some games where fans can do some live play by play & get a recording of their call. I've heard better there then Mishkin & Espo. It may work in the Tampa area, but that duo would never make it to air in traditional hockey markets.
Listen to Edmonton, Calgary, Carolina, Detroit, Montreal, Vancouver, Minnesota, or any of the New York area clubs & then me how good the Lightning sound on the radio. If you like them, God bless ya, enjoy. I'm not bashing the team itself, they are a very good club, I just can't stomach them on the radio.

Get used to all things sponsered in all sports. Just be happy the NHL does'nt have the Euro thing going, you know, the uniforms with as many ads on them as race drivers. I guess you could get used to it, I remember when the boards were just white, no ads. Now it's normal.
