|
|
For some reason, the Stephanie Miller show has disappeared from the SIRIUS Left schedule. Has anybody out there heard any details on this? Did they give a reason? They replaced her with some guy I never heard of, according to their web site.
This would be a great opportunity for XM to pick up this highly rated morning show. Either launch a second progressive channel or put her on 167 instead of Lionel.
January would be a perfect time to launch this new channel. The XMAS channels and all the college football bandwidth swapping will be over.
Stephanie Miller, Thom Hartmann, and Mike Malloy deserve to be on XM, in real time, for the entirety of their programs. |

The problem there is the Xmas channels are all preempting another channel and while the sports bandwidth will be over, it eventually comes back, so that doesn't work. You can't have a talk channel that's only on for a few months. I'd rather they just drop a low rated channel like E! _________________ -LFV

Dropping E would be a good move. Or any other channel that's just a TV simulcast anyway. Particularly something like FAUX news, because there's already a FAUX radio channel which has all the same people on it.
You're right about the XMAS channels being temporary swap outs with other channels, but I'm guessing by next fall, they will probably have a better idea of how the whole merger thing is going to play out, so by then they might have more channels added anyway. |

She has a good show, and Sirius was stupid to axe her (especially for the in-house snore show they replaced her with). It would be great if XM got her, but where ? Would Air America add her moving Lionel to a late night replay ? _________________ ~Td~

Fine with me. Glenn Beck shouldn't be on XM twice a day either
Seriously though, why the Hell do they need ANY simulcast of TV broadcasts. FAUX has a radio channel, I believe CNN does radio as well, so that should be on XM rather than the TV. I believe XM already dropped MSNBC, and at least they had a program worth listening to (Keith Olbermann), but even that one is better with the visuals. |

That should work. Lionel's fans are used to him working that shift anyway. If he has any fans.
I still think two channels are the best solution, because Hartmann and Malloy are being short changed.
The only way I can hear Miller, Hartmann, and Malloy all in their proper time slots right now is to stream Nova M out of Phoenix and that ties me to the computer all day, so it's not the best option. |

I didn't realize Beck was on twice a day.
I agree. I'd love to see a totally neutral news channel on XM. One that is inhouse XM produced. So far I think POTUS '08 has done a great job keeping in the neutral lane. _________________ How's that Obama thing working out for you?

They are two completely different shows.
Besides, the Fox news channel is the Top rated News channel on XM, why would XM get rid of it?
If Liberal talk radio had big ratings, XM would make room for more channels for it. |

Ugh. That would mean Ted Baxter ... I mean Scott Walterman, as the main anchor. No thanks.
I wish AP Radio was still a full-time operation, the way it was before the cutbacks of a couple of years ago. XM could get rid of a lot of unlistenable TV-on-radio that way. Although I've heard a few folks on the far right accuse AP of a liberal bias. |

I would love to have S. Miller on XM. BTW Only someone from the far right would think that the AP has a liberal bias. |

Then they should have someone else other than Walterman, I don't really like him either. |
