Somehow, Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love", which straddled the decades, gets played regularly on both the 60s and 70s channels. It's funny how some songs from that period (late '69-early '70) get left out entirely, and this one gets double the airplay.

Silly. "Whole Lotta Love" is a classic rock song. Everyone knows that for this reason it MUST be played on as many channels as possible. How many channels play it on Sirius FM--seven, eight?

Classic Vinyl, Deep Tracks, The Boneyard, 20 On 20, '60s On 6, and '70s On 7---that makes six channels. I'm so sorry, you didn't win...but Johnny is here to tell you about your nice consolation prize.

When a Jukebox of Dynomite song is played, my display screen says to email the 70s channel.

Why? They haven't read (or responded to) an e-mail since 2008! The music list and format have been frozen solid since 2008!

Why would anyone bother sending an e-mail to a non-existent account? No one is running the channel. It's a computer program that has been parked in neutral since 2008!

Please don't get discouraged if you get no response. Continue to e-mail the '70s channel. The company that responds to that e-mail also handles e-mail for Enron, Bell Telephone, Mervyns, Montgomery Ward, May Company, Tower Records, Wherehouse, Washington Mutual, and Aloha Airlines.

Here's the reason why they say to email the 70s channel when they play a Jukebox of Dynomite song: Allegedly someone requests the song that plays in there.

Is it Jimmie Walker? His character on the 1974-79 CBS tv series Good Times was probably the only person on earth to even use that word. Back then it inspired a 1975 instrumental hit by Bazuka, but who in 2012 says "Dynomite"? Nobody. The name "Jukebox of Dynomite" ain't much better than "Jukebox of Cheese." Just play the songs! Quit putting them into stupid (and demeaning) categories!

"Allegedly" someone requests them? Sorry, my friend, but that is just radio make-believe. Nobody at the 70s channel has checked an email or answered a phone call since 2007.

Songs I think should be in regular rotation, instead of the Jukebox of Dynomite:

Wildfire
Wildflower
Rainy Days And Mondays
Top Of The World
Jim Dandy
Kung Fu Fighting
Disco Lady
I Write The Songs
Best Disco In Town
Brand New Key

There's more as well.

Whoa - a new addition! Turned on 70's on 7 to listen to Casey just in time to hear Lou Rawls "A Natural Man" (1971/#17) before the countdown started. I haven't heard that on 70's on 7 in years.

Background vocals on A Natural Man were by the Mike Curb Congregation. Curb wrote the jingle, "You meet the nicest people on a Honda," and founded Sidewalk Records and Curb Records. From 1979 to 1983 he was lieutenant governor of California. He served under Governor Jerry Brown, who is governor again and trying to raise taxes higher and higher while giving taxpayer money to illegal immigrant college students and not doing anything to cut government salaries and government pensions. But that's a complaint for the political forum. Or did I just post it here?

Herb Alpert's Rise is now on the list---the post-merger list. A number-one hit and it hadn't been played for more than three years! How many other number-one songs are being ignored by the Decades channels? Who wants to research this? Disgruntled XM listeners are waiting!

In one of those songs, The Streak, Ray Stevens shouted "Don't look, Ethel!" After seeing how many number-one hits are ignored, I have a feeling that if Ethel had an XM subscription, Ray would holler, "Don't listen, Ethel!"

Thanks for that list, AZjoe. XM's refusal to play all those songs is inexcusable!
